Solar Energy Installers
About the Role
Solar energy system installers’ connect solar equipment in residential and commercial buildings. They monitor, check and audit solar installation quality, liaising with customers and companies to ensure quality installation.
They assemble and install solar systems on roofs or other appropriate structures and test the installed system for the desired performance. They prepare the site for the solar system, including cutting holes and connecting electrical wiring, assessing placement site and measuring for security and fit, completing compliance documentation throughout the process.

Salary Expectation: $70,000 – $85,000
Qualifications, Training, Licenses
High School Diploma.
An Electrical License (or be working under the supervision of someone licensed).
C.E.C. Accreditation (CleanEnergy Council) strongly recommended and can be completed by online assessments.
White card Public liability insurance.
Work at heights card.
Knowledge & Capabilities
Solid understanding of Solar/PV.
Strong understanding of (and experience in) the latest compliance requirements and Electrical Safety Standards.
High attention to detail to ensure the systems are installed properly.
Able to lift heavy equipment and comfortable with heights.
Ability to work around complex designs and offer configuration solutions when required.
The ability to manage other workers and good decision-making skills.
Good communication and interpersonal skills.

The standard requirement is the high school certificate.
1 – 2 years on-the-job training may equip some to work as a Solar Panel Installer.
With prior experience as an electrician or construction worker, it is also possible to complete training online.
