INS is proud to present this case study outlining its success working with the NSW Government to develop and implement a tailored Talent Mobility Pathway. The pathway provided an innovative alternative to large-scale redundancies of employees impacted by the introduction of the National Disability Insurance Scheme within NSW. The implementation of the Talent Mobility Pathway reinforced the economic and operational feasibility of using a proactive, employee centred methodology, to manage large scale reform. The benefits of this project were sector wide. The Talent Mobility Pathway was a testament to the success that can be achieved when Clusters and Agencies work together. Through our collaborative approach, we assisted the NSW public sector to broaden the use of the Capability Framework, to support and identify transferable capabilities and create a professional and mobile public sector.
The savings achieved were significant, which for an innovative, first-of-its-kind program is particularly noteworthy. Savings translated to new roles for 48% of participating employees, with flow on benefits to their families, community and the NSW public sector as a whole. For INS Career Management, the greatest privilege was designing and implementing a ground-breaking program, while maintaining our commitment to treat people as individuals with dignity and respect.
