Back-End Developer
About the Role
Back-end Developers work behind the scenes of a website to design, develop and deploy digital backend systems and applications, which helps to provide a smooth experience for the user. They write, test, debug, and deploy code across a variety of languages and frameworks.
Back-end Developers investigate and analyse reported defects and recommend solutions. In addition to this, research, document and recommend ideas for new systems, products and programs.
Key Industries for employment opportunities are: Information Technology and Services, Computer Software, Internet, eCommerce, Consumer Services.
Salary Expectation: $90,000 – $110,000
Qualifications, Training, Licenses
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Programming, Computer Science, or a related field.
Knowledge & Capabilities
Thorough understanding of modern backend development, infrastructure and tools.
Experience with programming languages including Java, PHP, or Python.
Project management skills.
Knowledge of web development and programming tools.
Experience in working with Front End Developers and developing digital solutions (website, app, software etc) – User Experience (UX) architects.
Experience with desktop and mobile application development.
Up to date with database technology such as MySQL, Oracle and MongoDB.
Strong problem solving skills with an analytical mind and great attention to detail.
